Its week 9 already! Where has the term gone? This week I am meeting with the other team 3 teachers to plan for next term, which involves a school production! This will be my first school production at AMS, so watch this space. Mrs Furlong will be teaching in room 12. The weather looks good for this week so we should be ok for team 3 sports and PE sessions. Our days are Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons so please wear suitable clothing. It would be great if students practice throwing and catching at home to reinforse what is being taught at school. I hope the reports were easy to understand and parents and students had a chance to look at the learning goals over the week-end. If there are any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

Hi all,
Reports go out on Friday this week. This report is intended to give you a picture of how students have settled into school. It provides an overall teacher judgement about how students are tracking towards meeting the end of year achievement expectations (National Standards) in reading, writing, spelling and maths. It also shares students key learning goals in literacy and numeracy for the first part of the year, and explains how parents can help at home.
School photos are this Thursday so remember to brush your hair. I know I will! Have a great week!

Hi everyone,
Firstly, congratulations to all our swimmers who competed in the annual swimming sports last Friday. AMS’s behaviour was outstanding and all our swimmers did us proud. A special mention to our relay teams, well done guys you were awesome. Aquatic is over for this season and we begin our PE unit on throwing and catching. Our PE sessions are on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons; make sure you wear appropriate clothes for these sessions. We are collecting old coins i.e. old fifty, twenty cents pieces etc. So have a rummage around your home and put them in our collection box. Please make sure you ask your parents first.

Hi Everyone,
Week 6 is upon us and it will be another busy one. It would be great to see families come to school and enjoy the annual Active Schools Picnic from 5.30-6.30pm this Monday evening. We also have our swimming sports this Friday. Spectators are most welcome for this fun event to be held at the Onekawa Pools. We hope to start at approximately 9.30am and should finish at 11.30am. Homework continues to be going well. Please remember our school computers are availiable from 8.30am each day. Have a great week everyone!

Hi students,
Well week 5 is testing week. This week you are sitting the annual PAT’s in Reading, Spelling and Maths. I’m sure you all will do well. I will walk you through this so don’t panic. We will also rank all swimmers this Thursday so please remember to bring your togs. Keep up the good work with your spelling city and studyladder homework. Remember computers are available from 8.30am if you cannot get access at home. Swimming is on Tuesday and Thursday. Have a great week.

Hi all,
Well another busy week gone and another about to start. Remember to check your studyladder is working early in the week.
Swimming is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. During this time we will rank the swimmers ready for our coming swimming sports day. Spelling city is starting this week so check out some of the spelling games on this useful site. There is a link on the blogroll. Remember if you are finding it hard to get access to a computer during the week, the computer suite is available from 8.30-8.55am.

Wow we are into week 3 already! Swimming this week (weather permiting) is on Tuesday and Thursday. I was really impressed with all of those students who completed the studyladder homework. Well done! Maths classes start on Monday. For those students in my Maths class your homework is on studyladder too. Trying to save trees! Have a great week everyone.
